The AlKaabi Homes project consists of four houses for four brothers on adjacent plots. While each home features a unique floor plan and program, they share a cohesive architectural theme that promotes harmony and individuality within the family compound.
The main concept revolves around splitting and shifting masses along a central spine. This design strategy creates distinct outdoor zones and varied views, offering spaces for relaxation, family gatherings, and privacy while maintaining a visual connection between the homes.
Solid walls and strategic voids balance privacy and openness. The solid elements ensure seclusion and shade, while the voids introduce natural light and outdoor glimpses, enhancing the living experience with thoughtfully framed views.
The use of local Saudi stone and wood cladding anchors the homes in their context, providing durability and a tactile connection to the surroundings. These materials emphasize a modern, minimalist aesthetic while celebrating local craftsmanship.
This careful composition of shifting masses, outdoor zones, and natural materials fosters a sense of community and individuality, allowing each home to feel unique yet part of a unified whole.
